Journalist Siva Bhattarai Honored with Letter of Recognition for Helping Family Find Missing Daughter

Sundarharaincha, Dec 19 : The Managing Director of Hasina Media Pvt. Ltd, Shiva Bhattarai Bhojpure, has been honored with a ‘Letter of Recognition’ for his crucial role in helping a family locate their missing 16-year-old daughter. When the girl went missing, the journalist took it upon himself to investigate and report on the case, tirelessly following leads and sharing updates with the public. His determined efforts helped raise awareness, leading to vital tips from the community that ultimately guided authorities to the missing teenager. The parents, deeply grateful for the journalist’s unwavering dedication, praised his compassion and professionalism in what was an incredibly emotional and stressful time. The honor bestowed upon him acknowledges not only his journalistic skills but also his commitment to helping others in times of crisis.

Sumina Tamang, daughter of Suman Tamang, a resident of Kali Mandir (Bengali Tol) at Sundarharaicha-9 in Morang, had gone out of contact. Sumina’s family members had requested to post the news for help in the Sundarharaicha Update. Journalist Bhattarai had published the news of the girl’s disappearance in the online news portal ‘Sundarharaicha Update’. Based on the same news, the girl was found. Sumina, a 16-year-old student of Class 8 of Shiksha Niketan Secondary School in Sundarharaicha, had gone out of contact since 6.30 AM.

The citizens of Kali Mandir (Bengali Tol) of Sundarharaicha Municipality, Ward No. 9 of Morang district,  were delighted with journalist Bhattarai’s contribution to search the girl (Teen). Nepali Congress Morang Working Committee Secretary Lalit Shrestha and Sikshya Niketan Secondary School Principal Thakur Subedi honoured Bhattarai on behalf of the citizens. Journalist Shiva Bhattarai Bhojpure has said that the award has encouraged him to work more energetically for the society in the upcoming days. Journalist Bhattarai was earlier honoured for his assistance in the police investigation.

Sumina Tamang’s elder father Divas Lama expressed happiness that the news posted in the media about the girl’s disappearance was as effective as the police investigation. Similarly, NC leader Lalit Bahadur Shrestha thanked journalist Bhattarai for helping bring the missing girl home safely. Sumina came in contact four days after she went missing on the basis of a news posted by media Sundarharaicha Update. She was found at Bimire of Kerabari Rural Municipality-6 on 19th December  ( On Thursday). Udaya Bahadur Limbu, a resident of Bimire, saw the girl, Sumina, sitting next to his house. After that, he protected  her in his house. At the same time, Udaya Bahadur’s family saw and read the news of the girl’s disappearance in Sundarharaicha Update. Uday Bahadur then informed over the phone that he had protected the missing Sumina at his home.

Sumina’s grandmother, elder father and Sundarharaicha Update team were were able to bring Sumina home safely after getting information that the girl was under protection at Uday Bahadur’s house. In fact, children need to be loved very much by parents and relatives. Loving children means encouraging them to study and do something in the future. But the girl, Sumina is learnt to have not received the love of the family. According to some locals, Sumina left home due to mental stress due to family dispute.

Sumina, a girl studying in class 8, needs to boost her self-confidence. Similarly, Sumina should continue her studies, realizing that there is happiness and sorrow in life.
