Katmandu: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell on Thursday, the last trading day of the week, marking a decline of 11.10 points compared to Wednesday.With this drop, the NEPSE index settled at 2,654 points.
In addition to the index decrease, the trading volume also saw a significant decline. The total turnover for the day was Rs 7.85 billion, down from Rs 9.20 billion on Wednesday, indicating a slowdown in market activity.
The day’s trading session saw mixed performances across companies, with the prices of 86 companies increasing, 150 declining, and 7 remaining unchanged.
Sectoral analysis revealed that the development bank sector recorded a growth of 0.83 percent, while the manufacturing group saw no change.
Other sectors faced losses, with the banking sector down by 0.61 percent, finance by 2.43 percent, hotel and tourism by 0.78 percent, and hydropower by 0.55 percent. Similarly, the life insurance and microfinance sectors recorded minor declines of 0.01 percent each.
The non-life insurance sector fell by 0.73 percent, investment by 0.79 percent, others by 0.35 percent, and the trade sector by 0.23 percent.
