Kathmandu, Mar. 11: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged private schools to invest with confidence, stating that the constitution guarantees property rights.
Inaugurating the 16th national general convention of the Private and Boarding Schools’ Organisation Nepal (PABSON) on Monday, Prime Minister Oli also expressed his surprise at the proposal to bring private schools under Guthi within five years.
He clarified that the government would take responsibility for providing free education to children that cannot afford to educate, with support from the private sector.
“Invest in the education sector. Exercise your property rights as per the law. This is not an industry. Do not aim for excessive profit,” Prime Minister Oli said.
“Invest and provide quality education in the country. Produce skilled and competent citizens. The law does not prohibit making a profit after investment. Provide service, but you don’t have to become ascetics either,” he added.
