Damak, Mar.19: Five people sustained injuries when an ambulance carrying a patient met with an accident in Damak, Jhapa on Wednesday morning. According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, five people have sustained serious injuries.
According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, an ambulance (Province 1-01-002 Cha 0115) of Manmohan Memorial Community Hospital (MMCH) crashed into a divider placed on the road in front of Damak-5 Gorkha Department near the main square of Damak under the East-West Highway.
The accident occurred at 1 AM on Wednesday when an ambulance was en route from Birtamod to Biratnagar carrying passengers.
The injured have been identified as 20-year-old Bishal Limbu, 23-year-old Barsha Limbu, 19-year-old Aarju Rai, 51-year-old Mina Limbu, 21-year-old Anjesh Limbu, of Arjundhara Municipality-10 and 35-year old ambulance driver Kamal Adhikari, from Birtamod-5, all of whom were in the ambulance.
