Kathmandu — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index inched down by 4.98 points on Wednesday, settling at 2,561.08 by market close. The trading floor remained active, with total transactions amounting to Rs 3.77 billion.
Market performance was mixed: 77 companies saw their share prices rise, and 8 stocks reached the positive circuit limit. On the flip side, 170 companies recorded declines, while 9 remained unchanged.
Sector-wise, most subgroup indices ended the day in negative territory. Only the hotel, hydropower, mutual fund, and trading sectors managed to stay afloat as the overall NEPSE index slipped slightly.
