Kathmandu: The CPN-UML on Thursday declared that it is establishing a National Volunteer Force (NVF) tasked with protecting the party’s leadership and its policies.
Prior to the official launch, UML-aligned youth activists marched in a rally led by Madhesh Basnet alongside Youth Union President Kshitij Thebe. The NVF will be formally introduced at an event at Karki Banquet in Babermahal, where party chair KP Sharma Oli is set to unveil the new force.
According to the party, the NVF has been created in response to rising insecurity and social unrest, with the aim of restoring public confidence in the aftermath of the incidents that occurred on September 8 and 9.
