Kathmandu: The Nepal Premier League (NPL) heads into a decisive evening as the Lumbini Lions and Biratnagar Kings face off in the second qualifier today at 4 PM. The winner will secure the final remaining spot in Saturday’s championship showdown.
Lumbini, guided by national skipper Rohit Kumar Poudel, enter the do-or-die fixture on the back of their eliminator victory. Biratnagar, captained by Sandeep Lamichhane, get a second shot at the final after their 77-run defeat to Sudurpaschim Royals in the first qualifier.
Sudurpaschim await in the title clash, having already booked their place with that dominant win over Biratnagar.
Lumbini will also draw confidence from their league-stage triumph against Biratnagar, where they successfully chased 145 in just 17 overs, winning by five wickets. Today’s match is expected to spotlight a compelling duel between Biratnagar’s star spinner Lamichhane and Lumbini’s in-form pacer Sher Malla.
