Kathmandu: The 11th National Convention of the CPN-UML, which concluded on Thursday, has approved a 24-point political proposal defining the party’s positions on national politics, governance, youth engagement, control of corruption and recent incidents of violence.
The proposal was prepared by a drafting committee formed during the convention’s closed session under the coordination of then Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali. Gyawali presented the document during the convention’s closing ceremony.
While presenting the proposal, Gyawali said the CPN-UML is ready to hold constructive dialogue with the younger generation to drive national development and prosperity. He emphasized that the party is committed to addressing the concerns of youth and strengthening cooperation with them.
According to the proposal, the party has taken various decisions to enhance youth participation within its organisational structure. It also notes that during UML’s tenure in government, initiatives were launched to promote entrepreneurship, skill development, startups, innovation, and the development of production and market-based ecosystems.
