UML chair Oli and NCP coordinator Prachanda meet amid concerns over election environment

Kathmandu: CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli and Nepal Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ held talks on Monday amid growing concerns over the country’s election environment. The meeting is believed to be their first one-on-one discussion since the emergence of the Gen-Z movement.

The two leaders met at a residence near the CPN-UML central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, where they reviewed the prevailing political situation. They expressed concern that the government has failed to create a conducive atmosphere for the upcoming elections and has instead undermined political parties and their top leadership.

According to Govinda Acharya, chief of Prachanda’s Secretariat, the discussion covered contemporary political issues, including the election environment and the possibility of cooperation in the National Assembly elections. However, the talks did not yield any concrete decisions. The meeting was held shortly before Prachanda’s scheduled departure for Delhi later in the day.
