Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has been admitted to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Maharajgunj, after an injury to his left leg developed into a skin infection. According to his secretariat, Lamichhane sustained a minor injury several days ago while attending a public program of the party in Janakpur. The injury later progressed into cellulitis, an infection affecting the deeper layers of the skin, prompting doctors to recommend hospitalization as a precautionary measure.
Lamichhane is currently under medical supervision and receiving treatment, his personal secretary Avinash Acharya confirmed, adding that he will remain inactive for a few days until doctors approve his recovery. His office has requested party members and well-wishers not to visit the hospital to avoid disturbing other patients. Addressing separate concerns, Lamichhane also informed that his driver Shambhu Thapa, who was injured after falling from a roof, is now in stable condition and undergoing treatment at CMS (Old Medical College). He urged people not to politicize personal injuries, stating that he is “a human being before a leader” and is physically and mentally exhausted at this time.
