Moscow: Russia has confirmed that a new round of talks aimed at ending the four-year-long war between Russia and Ukraine will begin Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, UAE, involving Ukraine and the United States.
This confirmation comes a day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that talks would be held in the UAE on Wednesday and Thursday. According to the international news agency AFP, Russia cited scheduling issues as the reason for the delay.
The talks are set to take place less than two weeks before the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The discussions are expected to focus on the critical issue of the eastern Donbas region, which Russia has invaded and occupied. However, neither side has so far shown any clear indication of progress. The United States has been pushing strongly for an end to the war between the two neighboring countries.
