20 days left for HoR election: Ballot papers being dispatched to 10 districts of Karnali

Kathmandu – The Election Commission has begun dispatching ballot papers to 10 districts of Karnali Province. Following the completion of printing, ballot papers are being transported to 12 constituencies across these districts.

According to the Commission, ballot papers have been delivered to the constituencies of Salyan, Rukum West, Dolpa, Mugu, Humla, Kalikot, Jumla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, and Surkhet. Assistant Spokesperson Prakash Nyaupane informed that ballot printing has been completed for 124 constituencies in 58 districts. In total, 15,778,000 ballot papers have been printed.

So far, ballot printing has been completed for Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Rukum (western part), Salyan, Surkhet, Bajura, Achham, Bajhang, Doti, Dadeldhura, Darchula, Baitadi, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Panchthar, Ilam, Terhathum, Bhojpur, Okhaldhunga, Sunsari, Taplejung, and Sankhuwasabha.

Similarly, ballot printing has also been completed for Solukhumbu, Khotang, Dhankuta, Baglung, Gulmi, Jhapa, Gorkha, Myagdi, Parbat, Nawalparasi West (Bardaghat Susta West), Morang, Udayapur, Mustang, Lamjung, Tanahun, Syangja, Bardiya, Rukum East, Dang, Banke, Nawalparasi East (Bardaghat Susta East), Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Pyuthan, Rupandehi, Rolpa, Manang, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Rasuwa, and Sindhupalchok.

The Commission stated that a total of 14,341 ballot boxes have been packed so far. Currently, around 1,000 boxes are being packed daily, while approximately 1.3 to 1.5 million ballot papers are being printed each day.

Ballot papers for the House of Representatives election are being printed at Janak Education Materials Centre Limited, Sanothimi. In the first phase, 1,098,200 sample ballot papers were printed and already dispatched to various districts.

For the proportional representation system, printing began earlier, and by Magh 13, a total of 20,830,000 ballot papers had been printed, packed, verified, and kept ready for dispatch.

The Commission further stated that 20,323,000 ballot papers need to be printed for the first-past-the-post (direct) election system. Printing for this category began on the morning of Magh 16.
