Kathmandu: The Nepali Army commemorated its 263rd Foundation Day alongside the festival of Mahashivaratri on Saturday by organizing a series of formal events in the capital.
Ram Chandra Poudel attended a special समारोह held at Sainik Manch in Kathmandu as the chief guest on the occasion of Shivaratri and Army Day.
The Nepali Army has been observing Mahashivaratri as Army Day for the past two decades. To mark the occasion, a ceremonial parade featuring arms drills, cannon salutes and military processions was organized at Sainik Manch. The program also included a range of cultural performances.
The ceremony was attended by high-ranking dignitaries, including the Vice President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the National Assembly and other distinguished guests.
