Indefinite curfew still in Gaur after tensions disrupt normal life

Gaur: Authorities have continued the indefinite curfew in Gaur Municipality of Rautahat district on Sunday, according to the District Administration Office, as security measures remain in place following recent disturbances.

Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal stated that all types of public activities, including gatherings, rallies, meetings, and processions, are completely banned. He added that the curfew will remain effective until further notice while officials closely observe the situation.

The restricted zone covers the area from Mudbalwa Gate in the east to Lalbakaiya Dam in the west, from Bam Canal in the north to the Gaur Customs Office boundary in the south. Within this area, all movement, protests, and public gatherings are strictly prohibited.

The curfew was initially enforced at 1 pm on Saturday after a dispute broke out among local residents. Although the situation is now reported to be under control, the curfew has been extended as a precautionary step to avoid any further tensions and to maintain peace.

Authorities have warned that anyone violating the curfew will face strict legal consequences. Residents are requested to cooperate with security agencies and local administration to help restore normal life and maintain law and order.
