Imports Worth Rs 519 Billion Through Birgunj Checkpoint

Birgunj (Parsa): Goods and commodities worth Rs 519.01 billion have been imported through the Birgunj customs point during the first seven months of the მიმდინარე fiscal year.

Compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year, imports have increased by Rs 57.31 billion, representing a rise of 12 percent.

According to Uday Singh Bista, Information Officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, there has been a notable increase in imports during the მიმდინარე fiscal year. “The share of petroleum products and iron and iron-based goods in total imports appears to be higher this year,” he stated.

During the corresponding period of the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 460.23 billion had been imported. In the first seven months of the მიმდინარე fiscal year, petroleum products worth Rs 106.43 billion have been imported.

Similarly, iron and iron-based goods worth Rs 46.16 billion have been imported. Machinery and spare parts valued at Rs 35.87 billion have also been brought in during the same period.

Additionally, crude soybean oil worth Rs 35.67 billion has been imported. The Customs Office further reported that electrical machinery, equipment, and their parts worth Rs 27.98 billion have also been imported.
