Nepal Oil Corporation urges public not to hoard LPG

Kathmandu: Nepal Oil Corporation has urged the public to purchase Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) only as required and refrain from unnecessary stockpiling.

The corporation has also requested gas industries and LPG distributors to ensure that the sale and distribution of LPG prioritize consumers using it for household purposes.

Issuing a statement today, the corporation said that although the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has been affecting the global supply of petroleum products and LPG, it has been continuing regular supply and distribution of petroleum products and LPG across the country.

The corporation stated, “The corporation once again requests all gas industries across the country to publicly disclose the quantity of LPG sold to distributors from their respective industries, along with the address and contact number, by 10:00 am each day and inform the corporation accordingly. Furthermore, distributors of the respective industries are requested to maintain records of the name, contact number, and quantity sold to consumers and provide the details to the corporation daily through the concerned industry.”

Considering the current situation, the corporation has also stated that in order to streamline the LPG supply and distribution system and facilitate consumers’ access to gas according to demand, all gas industries have been instructed to fill 7.1 kilograms of LPG per cylinder and market each cylinder at half the price, Rs 955, effective from Friday until further notice.
