Kathmandu – The country is currently experiencing the partial influence of a western low-pressure system. At present, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country are generally cloudy, while the remaining areas are experiencing partly cloudy conditions.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather will remain generally cloudy over the hilly and mountainous regions, including Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces, while the rest of the areas will witness partly cloudy conditions.
There is a possibility of moderate rainfall or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the high Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces, as well as at a few locations in the Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini Provinces.
Similarly, moderate rainfall with thunder, lightning, and hail is likely at a few places in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim Provinces, and at one or two places in the hilly regions of the remaining provinces.
There is also a possibility of light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at one or two places in the Terai region.
According to the Division, tonight the weather will remain generally cloudy over the hilly and Himalayan regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim Provinces, as well as in the Himalayan regions of the remaining provinces, while partly cloudy conditions will prevail over the other hilly and Terai areas.
There is a possibility of light rainfall or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces, and at one or two places in other Himalayan regions. Likewise, light rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely at one or two places in the hilly regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces, the Division added.
