Prohibitory Order Imposed in Kapilvastu District from This Afternoon

Taulihawa (Kapilvastu), Chaitra 8 — A prohibitory order has been imposed in Kapilvastu. Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam stated that, based on the decision of the District Security Committee, the order has come into effect from 1:00 PM today until further notice.

He informed that the prohibitory order has been issued under Section 6(3)(a) of the Local Administration Act, 2028, restricting all forms of gatherings, assemblies, rallies, and demonstrations in various parts of Kapilvastu.

According to him, the restricted area extends from Labani Chowk in the east, Bardaghat Bridge in the west, Pachhera Chowk in the north, and Dharmabhakta Secondary School in Babhani in the south. No form of public gathering, assembly, procession, or protest is permitted within these designated zones.

Chief District Officer Gautam further warned that anyone violating the prohibitory order will be taken into custody and face legal action as per the law.

Meanwhile, District Police Office Superintendent Santosh Acharya reported that a total of 23 individuals were injured in an incident that occurred in Maharajganj Bargada.

Among the injured, 11 personnel from the Nepal Police, including an inspector, and six personnel from the Armed Police Force were hurt. Six protesters were also injured, four of whom sustained gunshot wounds.

The injured are currently receiving treatment: four in Bhairahawa, one in Bharatpur, and one in Bahadurganj. Police have taken nine individuals into custody in connection with the incident, Superintendent Acharya added.
