Kathmandu: The current weather in Nepal is being influenced by a western low-pressure system as well as local winds. At present, the sky across the country is generally cloudy. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has reported that moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning are occurring in some areas of the Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
According to the Division, today during the daytime, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country will remain generally cloudy, while partly cloudy conditions are expected in other areas. There is a possibility of light rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some places in the hilly and mountainous regions.
Similarly, tonight, generally cloudy conditions are expected in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, as well as in the mountainous areas of other provinces.
Partly cloudy conditions are expected in the remaining hilly areas, while the Terai region will remain mostly clear. The Division has stated that there is a possibility of light rainfall and snowfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, as well as in the mountainous areas of Bagmati Province.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division has urged the general public and all concerned authorities to take necessary precautions due to the possibility of light rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly and mountainous areas of the country.
