Kathmandu: The country is currently experiencing partial influence of western and local winds, resulting in partly to generally cloudy conditions in various regions.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Sudurpashchim Provinces, along with other provinces, are witnessing generally cloudy weather, while the remaining areas are partly cloudy.
Light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is occurring at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces. This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions, while the Terai is likely to experience mainly fair weather.
There is also a possibility of light rainfall or snowfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, at one or two places in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces.
Similarly, tonight, the mountainous regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy, while other mountainous areas will see partly cloudy conditions. The rest of the hilly and Terai regions are likely to have mainly clear weather. Light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning is possible at one or two locations in the mountainous areas of Gandaki Province.
The division has urged the public and concerned authorities to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather information, as there is a likelihood of thunderstorms, lightning, rainfall, and snowfall in various parts of the mountainous regions.
