Kathmandu – The Federal Parliament Secretariat has published the election schedule for the selection of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, which is set to take place this coming Sunday.
According to the schedule, nominations for candidates will be registered today between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM at the Parliament Secretariat in Singha Durbar. The list of registered candidates will be published at 2:30 PM in the order of registration.
During Sunday’s House meeting, the proposer will present the motion, which will be seconded and followed by collective discussion before being put to a decision.
The Rastriya Swatantra Party has already decided to nominate its Vice-Chairperson, Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal, for the position of Speaker.
Similarly, the election for the Deputy Chairperson of the National Assembly will take place on Monday. According to the schedule, nominations will be registered on Sunday between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM, and the final decision will be made during the National Assembly meeting at 1:00 PM on Monday.
