Kathmandu: At present, Nepal is under the influence of a western low-pressure system along with local winds. The weather across the country is generally cloudy. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, light rainfall and snowfall are occurring at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces.
According to the Division, the weather will remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions during the day, while the remaining areas will experience partly cloudy conditions. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder, lightning, hail, and windstorms at some places in the hilly and mountainous regions. Additionally, light rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim Provinces and at one or two places in other Terai areas.
There is also a likelihood of windstorms in some areas of the Terai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces. During the night, the mountainous regions will remain generally cloudy, the hilly regions partly cloudy, and the Terai regions will experience mostly clear weather.
Light rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning are expected at a few places in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces, as well as in parts of Bagmati, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim Provinces. Similarly, some areas of the Terai regions of Madhesh and Koshi Provinces may also experience windstorms.
