‘Bagmati and Lumbini Provincial Assembly Meetings ‘taking place this afternoon

Kathmandu: The provincial assemblies of Bagmati and Lumbini are scheduled to convene separately today. The Bagmati Provincial Assembly meeting is set for 11:00 AM, while the Lumbini Provincial Assembly is expected to meet at 1:00 PM, according to the tentative agenda.

In the Bagmati Provincial Assembly meeting, discussions will be held on the theoretical aspects of various bills, which will then be forwarded to the relevant subject committees for clause-by-clause deliberation. According to Ram Kumar Poudel, Secretary of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, the agenda includes detailed discussions and subsequent referral of the bills to committees.

In the meetings held on Chaitra 25 and 26, the Assembly had presented and conducted preliminary discussions on the “Provincial Economic Procedures and Financial Accountability Bill, 2082” and the “Provincial Drinking Water and Sanitation Bill, 2082.”

Secretary Poudel stated that after deliberating on the theoretical aspects of these bills, they will be sent to the subject committees for detailed review. The committees will then prepare separate reports incorporating their recommendations.

Similarly, the Lumbini Provincial Assembly has set three agenda items for today’s meeting, according to the Assembly Secretariat.

At the beginning of the meeting, provincial assembly members will express their views on contemporary issues during a special session. Additionally, Minister for Industry, Tourism, and Transport, Prachanda Bikram Neupane, is expected to present a proposal to send the “Lumbini Pragya Pratisthan Establishment and Operation Bill” to the concerned committee for clause-by-clause discussion.

Furthermore, Dil Kumari Budha, Chairperson of the Provincial Affairs and Law Committee, is scheduled to present the committee’s annual report to the Assembly.
