Kathmandu — The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has instructed government employees to enforce the Code of Conduct. The directive was issued through a notice by the Ministry’s Secretary, Chandrakala Paudel.
According to the government’s approved Governance Reform Agenda, employees have been urged to carry out their responsibilities accordingly. Among the one hundred reform measures made public by the government, provisions related to civil servants are also included.
The reform agenda explicitly states that the Code of Conduct for civil servants must be implemented in letter and spirit to address existing corruption and delays, and to promote a more service-oriented and exemplary administration.
Furthermore, the reform plan emphasizes ensuring an environment in which employees uphold professional integrity, remain impartial and neutral, and are fully committed to the effective implementation of government decisions. Civil servants have also been directed to strictly comply with the Civil Service Act and its regulations in matters relating to conduct.
