Kathmandu: At present, the country is experiencing partial influence of westerly and local winds. Partial cloud cover is observed in the mountainous regions and some parts of the Terai in Koshi Province, while the weather in other areas remains generally clear.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, during the day today, the weather will be partly cloudy in Koshi Province and in the hilly and mountainous regions, while the rest of the Terai will experience partly cloudy conditions.
There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in some areas of the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi Province, as well as in parts of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces. Similar conditions are expected in the mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces, and in some locations of the Terai region of Koshi Province.
Additionally, temperatures are expected to rise in the Terai regions of Madhesh Province, as well as in the valleys and inner lowlands of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces.
There is a likelihood of a heatwave in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim Provinces. Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the mountainous regions, partly cloudy in the hilly regions, and mostly clear in the Terai. Light rainfall and snowfall are possible in a few places in the mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces.
