ICC Cricket World Cup League-2: Nepal facing with Scotland today

Kathmandu, May 18: Nepal and Scotland are set to face each other today (Monday) under the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2. The match will begin at 9:30 AM at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.

So far, three matches have been completed in the ongoing tri-series involving Nepal, the United States, and Scotland. Scotland has won both of its matches. In the opening game, Scotland defeated Nepal by two runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method. In another match, Scotland also defeated the United States by two runs using the same method.

The third match was played between Nepal and the United States last Saturday, in which Nepal secured a convincing nine-wicket victory over the U.S.

In today’s match, Nepal will aim to defeat Scotland and keep alive its hopes of qualifying for the World Cup Global Qualifier.

Nepal is currently placed seventh in the points table of the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2. To qualify for the World Cup Global Qualifier, Nepal must win all of its remaining 10 matches. Likewise, Nepal needs to finish within the top six positions to retain its One Day International (ODI) status. Therefore, today’s match is considered highly important for Nepal.

After 26 matches, Nepal stands in seventh place with 20 points, having won nine matches, lost 15, and recorded two no-results.

Meanwhile, Scotland is at the top of the table with 38 points. Out of 30 matches, Scotland has won 16, lost eight, and six matches ended without a result.
