Kathmandu — The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the country is currently experiencing the influence of westerly and local winds, along with a low-pressure system located near the eastern region of Nepal. According to the Division, the weather is generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, while the remaining Tarai regions are experiencing mainly fair weather.
Light to moderate rainfall is currently occurring at a few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki Province and at a few locations in the mountainous and hilly regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
This afternoon, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to witness generally cloudy conditions, while the remaining hilly and mountainous areas will experience partly cloudy weather. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, as well as Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Similar weather conditions are also likely at a few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Lumbini Province and at one or two places in the Tarai regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, along with the hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Hot daytime conditions are likely in the Tarai areas of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini provinces. Likewise, strong winds and thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon at a few places in the Tarai and hilly regions of Madhesh Province, as well as Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Similarly, tonight, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy, while Madhesh Province and the remaining hilly and mountainous regions will experience partly cloudy weather. The Tarai region is likely to remain mainly fair. There is also a possibility of light rainfall with thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in Madhesh Province and the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini Province. Strong winds are also likely at a few places in the Tarai and hilly areas of Madhesh Province, along with Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
