Kathmandu— President Ram Chandra Paudel has stated that every festival helps deepen the spirit of love, compassion, sacrifice, tolerance, harmony, and national unity among Nepalis.
Extending his greetings on the occasion of Bakr Eid, the President expressed his best wishes that the festival inspire all citizens to contribute toward fulfilling the national aspiration of “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.” He also expressed confidence that Bakr Eid would further strengthen emotional ties with the motherland and contribute to national prosperity and development.
In his message, the President stated, “On this occasion, the Muslim community should move beyond mutual resentment, hostility, and hatred. Festivals carrying the message of faith, dedication, and social service will promote harmony, tolerance, reconciliation, unity, brotherhood, and coexistence among Nepalis living in different parts of the world despite their religious and cultural diversity.”
He further expressed confidence that such festivals would help preserve, promote, and develop the country’s unique cultural traditions and heritage. Stressing that unity in diversity strengthens national sentiment, he noted that these celebrations also help spread the message of brotherhood and equality.
Meanwhile, Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav stated that Bakr Eid, celebrated as a symbol of sacrifice, devotion, and dedication, further strengthens sympathy, cooperation, brotherhood, and social harmony in society.
In his message of शुभकामना on the occasion of Bakr Eid, the Vice President noted that the festival inspires people to live together in harmony. He also expressed confidence that Bakr Eid would encourage the culture of helping the underprivileged and those in need, thereby reinforcing the spirit of social justice and equality.
“Alongside its religious significance, the festival also highlights the higher values of collective spirit, cooperation, and humanity from social and cultural perspectives,” he said.
