Kathmandu — The Central Election Commission of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has published the election schedule for the party’s First National General Convention.
According to the schedule, the distribution of nomination forms will begin tomorrow at 1:00 PM. The registration of nomination papers will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The preliminary list of candidates will be published at 6:00 PM.
The deadline for filing claims and objections against candidates has been set from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM tomorrow. Verification and investigation of candidates facing claims or objections will be conducted from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, while the final deadline for withdrawing candidacies has been fixed at 9:15 PM.
As per the election timetable, the first phase of voting for the positions of Party President and Central Committee Members will be held on Asar 9 (June 23) from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
The party has set the nomination fee at Rs 51,000 for the position of President and Rs 41,000 for other office-bearer positions. Candidates seeking election as Central Committee Members will be required to pay a nomination fee of Rs 21,000.
The Election Commission has stated that candidates for the post of President must secure one proposer and 51 supporters. Similarly, candidates for office-bearer positions must have one proposer and 21 supporters.
RSP has also specified that candidates for Central Committee Member positions must have one proposer and 21 supporters. According to the schedule, vote counting and the announcement of results will take place within two hours after the completion of voting.
