Kathmandu: The Susta Protection Campaign staged a sit-in protest at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu.
The campaign put forward a three-point demand, calling on the Government of Nepal to undertake concrete diplomatic initiatives to prevent Indian encroachment, immediately grant Nepali citizenship to the residents of Susta, and distribute land ownership certificates (title deeds) for the land they have long occupied and cultivated.
Carrying Nepali national flags and displaying placards bearing slogans such as “Save Susta, Save the People of Susta,” “Protect Our Borders, Citizenship, and Land Titles,” and “No Encroachment—Respect Our Sovereignty,” the demonstrators participated in the sit-in protest.
