Kalikot, July 2: The body of a passenger of the bus that went missing after falling into the Karnali River has been recovered. Identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, according to the police.
The body was retrieved from the river during the rescue operation after the bus fell some 500 meter off the road into the river at Sangetada of Chamundra Bindrasaini Municipality in Dailekh district, along the Karnali highway.
The passenger bus Karnali Pradesh 03-001Kha1055 was heading toward Raskot Municipality of Kalikot from Surkhet when it veered off the road.
The police said the bus has not been found yet as it may have fallen into the deep area of the river although the rescue operation is going on.
An injured person has also been rescued from the accident site. The injured person, however, is unable to speak.The number of passengers in the bus is yet to be ascertained.
