The western low pressure system is affecting the country at present. As the temperature increases, the cold is decreasing in the Kathmandu Valley. There is partial to normal rain in Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki provinces including Far West Province. Some places in Central and East Terai will be cloudy/foggy.
The cold has eased in most parts of Bagmati province, including Kathmandu. Similarly, the temperature has started to rise in the hilly districts of Province 1 as well. The minimum temperature of Kathmandu in the morning was measured at 4.4 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperature reached 19.5 degrees Celsius yesterday. Even though it will be cold in the morning and evening, it will be warm in the afternoon as the sun will shine today. Due to the lack of winter rains and the influence of the western low pressure system, the minimum and maximum temperatures have started to rise in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Province 1 including Kathmandu.
The weather will be generally clear in Far West, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki regions with partly to moderate showers In the afternoon. In Far West, Karnali and Gandaki provinces, there is a possibility of light rain in one or two places in the hilly areas, and there is a possibility of light snowfall in a few places in the high hilly and Himalayan areas.
At night, the weather will be partly cloudy to partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Far West, Karnali and Gandaki regions, and the weather will be generally clear in the rest of the country. There is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and Himalayan regions of Far West, Karnali and Gandaki provinces.
Light snowfall at a few places in the highlands and Himalayan regions of Far West, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki Provinces and light rain at one or two places in the hilly areas of Far West and Gandaki Provinces along with fog/fog in some parts of the Terai will affect daily life, health,road and air traffic are likely to be affected. IT is advised to take necessary precautions and vigilanc for next 24 hours on the bulletin of Forecasting Division.
