Kathmandu, Nov 26: The express bus service on the Suryabinayak-Ratnapark route, which was suspended for over one month, has resumed from today. The service has resumed by adding 11 new buses on the same route since 8:30 this morning. Earlier, 25 buses were operating as a part of the express service.

The buses left Suryabinayak for Ratnapark at 8:30 this morning at an interval of three minutes. The schedule has been made to run from Suryabinayak to Ratnapark till 10:30 and from 3:30 to 5:30 in the afternoon from Ratnapark to Suryabinayak.

According to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, the buses have been added and the timetable has been revised to make the express bus service more efficient.

In order to facilitate the passengers to reach their destinations quickly, the ministry started the express bus service from September 20 on the occasion of Constitution Day. But as this service could not be effective, it was suspended within a month.

While other public buses take 1.5 hours to reach Ratnapark-Suryabinayak, it is said that the express bus service will reach Suryabinayak from Ratnapark in 45 minutes. Officials at the ministry have said that the traffic police will help the fast service buses not to stop even in the intersections where there is a lot of traffic congestion like in Maitighar, Koteshwar, Jadibuti.

According to the Department of Transport Management, the express bus will charge the same fare as other public buses on the Ratnapark-Suryabinayak route.
