Koshi Province beat Far-West by 8 wickets, secures place in playoffs

Kathmandu, 28 Dec. Koshi Province secured a place in the play-offs of the Prime Minister’s Cup Women’s National Cricket Tournament with an eight-wicket win over Sudurpaschim Province. Koshi secured a place in the playoffs by winning five out of six matches. Koshi is the second team after APF to secure a place in the playoffs.

Koshi achieved the target of 119 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 17.4 overs at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.Openers Kajal Shrestha and Rubina Chhetri shared a century partnership. Kajal shared a 118-run partnership and was caught by Laxmi Saud off Anu Kadayat with one run left to win. Kajal scored 54 runs off 48 balls with the help of 8 fours.

Rubina remained unbeaten on 51 off 55 balls with 8 fours.After Kajal was dismissed, Apsari Begum, who came to bat, was ducked. Vimala Malaha then hit a four off her second ball to win the team. Earlier, Batting first, Sudurpaschim scored 118 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs. Opener Bindu Rawal top-scored with 33 runs. She hit 5 fours in 39 balls. Samjhana Khadka scored 27 runs. Kabita Joshi remained unbeaten on 26 Rewati Dhami 20.

Sabnam Rai and Apsari Begum took one wicket each for Koshi.Koshi has lost only one match in six matches. Koshi lost to APF by 8 wickets.After the second defeat of the tournament, the chances of reaching the play-offs are also strong. Earlier, they lost to Far-Flung APF by 9 wickets.
