Ballot papers transported to polling stations for NA election

Kathmandu, Jan 19: The Election Commission has transported ballot papers to the related Election Officers’ office in all seven provinces for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election. A total of 6,910 ballot papers of 38 types printed in accordance with the approved design and standards for the January 25’s upper house election has been transported to the respective offices, the Commission said.

The province assembly members, chairperson and vice chairperson of rural municipalities and mayors and deputy mayors of municipalities are the voters in the NA member election being held for 19 seats.
The white ballot paper having green ink and election symbol has been printed for the province assembly members while white paper with red ink and election symbols have been printed for the chairperson and vice chairperson of rural municipalities and mayors and deputy mayors of municipalities, it was shared.

Deputy Spokesperson at the Commission, Shreedhar Panthi, said based on the number of the electoral college and the number of vacant posts there are four types of 920 ballot papers for two posts in Koshi Province, four types of 940 ballot papers for two posts in Madhesh Province, eight types of 1,760 ballot papers for four posts in the Bagmati Province have been transported. Similarly, there are four types of 740 ballot papers for two posts in Lumbini Province, six types of 750 ballot papers for three posts in Karnali Province and six types of 900 ballot papers for three posts in Sudurpaschim Province.
