CWC League 2 : Namibia defeated Nepal by four wickets

Kathmandu: Nepal lost to Namibia by four wickets in the first match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2. Namibia chased down the target of 133 runs set by Nepal in 33 overs after losing the toss and batting first at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Sompal Kami took three wickets for Nepal. Lalit Raj Banshi took two wickets while Rohit Poudel took one wicket. Batting first, Nepal lost Opener Kushal Bhurtel for zero runs as the first wicket. Anil Shah was dismissed in 8 runs as second wicket.

Captain Rohit Sharma returned to the pavilion after scoring one run, while another opener Asif Sheikh was dismissed in 4 runs. Bhim Sarki was dismissed in 44 runs while Kushal Malla scored 15 runs. Sompal Kami was dismissed in 2 runs. Gulshan Jha scored 21 runs while Pawan Sarraf returned to the pavilion in 12 runs. Karan KC was dismissed in 16 runs while Lalit Raj Banshi remained unbeaten on zero runs.

Namibia’s Girhad Erasmus took five wickets in the process of bowling out Nepal cheaply. Nepal will take on The Netherlands in their second match on Saturday.
