Kathmandu, Aug 1: Nepal got off to a winning start by defeating Sri Lanka in the CAVA Women’s Volleyball Nations League that began in the capital on Thursday.
Nepal defeated Sri Lanka in straight sets by 3-0 in the match held at the National Sports Council Covered Hall in Tripureshwar. Nepal won the first set by 25-19, second by 25-18 and the third set by 25-19 points.
In the second match of the day, Iran is playing against India. Host Nepal will play its second match against India on coming Saturday. India, Iran, Maldives, Sri Lanka and hosts Nepal are competing in the inaugural CAVA Women’s Volleyball Nations League. Nepal is hosting the tournament jointly with Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA).
