Kathmandu, Aug. 19: Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav and Speaker of House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire have extended happiness, peace, prosperity, good health and progress to all Nepalis at home and abroad on the occasion of the Janaipurnima (Rishi Tarpani), a religious and cultural festival being marked in Nepal since the ancient time.
The Vice President said that the main purpose of this festival is to encourage mutual brotherhood, affection, harmony, ownership and cooperation despite the festival is named differently in different geographies, regions and communities.
The madhesi community in the Tarai-Madhes observes this festival as the Rakhi Tyohar, the Vice President has stated in his message. Likewise, Speaker Ghimire has said that this festival has helped in promoting national unity, goodwill and brotherhood. Ghimire has stated that this festival is taken as a celebration to deepen family reconciliation.
