NA lawmakers stress on construction of infrastructure within stipulated time

Kathmandu, Aug 25: Members of the National Assembly (NA) have emphasized that infrastructure should be built within the stipulated time.

In today’s meeting of the Upper House, they emphasized that the construction of the infrastructure should be completed within the stipulated time by stopping the negligence of the contractor.

Speaking on a special hour, NA member Sumitra BC said that quality work could not be done due to hasty work at the end of the fiscal year. BC further shared that Mid-Hill Highway completion is in limbo as it was begun a decade ago therefore it should have completed as soon as possible.

Lawmakers Renu Chand urged the government to manage immediate reliefs to the natural disaster victims. Similarly, lawmaker Yubraj Sharma opined to work out to meet the goal of sustainable development. Uday Bahadur Bohara stressed on amendment of the constitution but small parties should have brought in consensus while amending the constitution.

Likewise, MP Bamdev Gautam requested the government to take timely action to reduce the risk, saying that the collapse of the glacier lake may cause loss of human and wealth. Lawmakers Bhuwan Bahadur Sunuwar, Padam Bahadur Pariyar urged government to work on Dalit’s issues.

MP Nar Bahadur Bista emphasized that the 10th National Sports Tournament to be held in Karnali Province in December should be conducted on time. MP Shardadevi Bhatt said that women died untimely due to being forced to live in the huts and said that the practice of Chhaupadi should be stopped strictly.
