Kathmandu, Aug 26: The CPN (UML) Kathmandu district committee has drawn attention of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli regarding reforms to be initiated in the areas of health, drinking water, drainage, road, food and environment of Kathmandu.
A delegation led by CPN (UML)’s Bagmati province in-charge Dr Rajan Bhattarai comprising district committee chair Deepak Niraula and Kathmandu Metropolitan City deputy mayor Sunita Dangol, among others urged the Prime Minister to expedite the remaining works of the Nagmati Dam project at Sundarijal in Kathmandu-3 and move ahead with the recharge plan in different parts of the Valley.
They put forth the demands before PM Oli at the official residence of PM in Baluwatar on Sunday evening.The delegation also demanded beautification of the rivers and long-term solution to the waste.
The delegation also sought judicial review of the Supreme Court’s decision not to allow the construction of structures on an extra 20 meters of land in addition to the areas to be left on the both sides of the river within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
On the occasion, PM Oli, also the chairperson of the CPN (UML), said that the government would take initiatives to address the problems in the lives of the people.
