Gandaki, Oct 22: Ramji Nepali, known for his ability to sing the national anthems of 160 countries, has embarked on a tour of India with a message of “world harmony, cultural tourism, and goodwill.”
He set off from Pokhara on Monday, planning to spend around three months traveling through cities like Dehradun and Delhi in India.
Ramji aims to promote peace and fraternity, showcasing Nepal’s cultural tourism while carrying the national flag of Nepal. During his tour, he will perform national anthems from various nations. Last year, he used to be seen almost every day along the banks of the Phewalake in Pokhara entertaining tourists by singing national anthems of various nations.
He said at those moments, he realized that tourists were amazed to hear the national anthem of their respective countries by a Nepali or a person from another land.
His outreach efforts were limited during the COVID-19 pandemic, but he has since chosen Pokhara as the base for reconnecting Nepal with the international tourism market. To date, he has visited 11 countries, and two years ago, he embarked on his first foreign trip post-pandemic, dedicating three months to singing national anthems. Ramji also hopes to garner financial support for his vision of a global tour.
