U-19 Asia Cup: Nepal sets Bangladesh a target of 142 runs

Kathmandu: Nepal has set Bangladesh a target of 142 runs in the Under-19 Men’s Asia Cup cricket.

Nepali players, who were invited to bat after losing the toss in Dubai, UAE, were all out for 141 runs in 45 overs. Nepal’s opener Akash Tripathi top-scored with 43 runs. Similarly, Abhishek Tiwari scored 29, and Uttam Magar scored 29 runs. Bangladesh’s Al Fahad, Iqbal Hossain Emon and Rizan Hossain took 2 wickets each.

Nepal had lost to Sri Lanka by 55 runs in the first match. Nepal will play Afghanistan in the third and final match of the group stage on Mangsir 18. Group ‘A’ of the Under-19 Asia Cup cricket consists of India, Pakistan, Japan and UAE. Group ‘B’ consists of Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The top two teams in the group will advance to the semi-finals.
