Kathmandu, 5 December: Sudurpaschim Royals has registered a 73-run win over Kathmandu Gurkhaz in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
Chasing a target of 168 runs set by Sudurpaschim, Kathmandu could only manage 94 runs in 15.5 overs, losing all wickets in the match held at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Thursday.
Earlier, Sudurpaschim Royals batsman Brandon McMullen hit a half-century against Kathmandu Gurkhaz. He completed his half-century in 31 balls.After hitting his half-century, Brandon could not last long on the field. After that, he played only 5 balls. He returned to the pavilion after scoring 53 runs in 36 balls.
Brandon, who is also a Scottish all-rounder batsman, was caught out by Kathmandu Gerhard Erasmus through Shahab Alam. Brandon became the eighth batsman to score a half-century in the ongoing tournament.
Earlier, Lokesh Bam, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravi Bopara, Deependra Singh Airi, Anil Sah, Lahiru Milantha and Martin Guptill had scored half-centuries.Kathmandu Gurkhaz had invited Sudurpaschim to bat first after winning the toss at the Kirtipur ground.
