People’s War Day is being celebrated today to commemorate the day when CPN-Maoist started armed war. For the first time, the government is going to celebrate People’s War Day today.
On the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the People’s War, the government has given a public holiday today. The RPP ministers in the government have expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to celebrate People’s War Day.
Maoist started armed war from 1st February 2052. During the war, thousands were killed and injured by the state and the Maoist side. Some are still missing.
Maoists claim that a democratic republic was established in the country on the foundation of people’s war. State governments have also declared a separate public holiday today.
