SC calls both parties for discussion in Mukul Dhakal’s writ

Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for July 1 on a writ petition filed by Dr. Mukul Dhakal, who was ousted as General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). A single bench of Justice Kumar Regmi issued a show cause order to discuss an interim decision.

Dhakal filed the writ demanding he be retained as the General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and that the Election Commission’s records showing him in the role remain unchanged.

Dhakal has listed the RSP, its central committee, jailed party chief Rabi Lamichhane, newly appointed General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, and spokesperson Manish Jha as respondents.

The Election Commission had recently confirmed Dhakal as General Secretary in its records, but RSP appointed Burlakoti and Jha to replace him and submitted new details, which are yet to be updated.
