Gen-Z movement update: Death toll from protests rises to 14

Kathmandu – As of the time of this news update, 14 people have lost their lives during the ongoing Gen-Z movement.

Among the protesters who entered the premises of the Parliament building in New Baneshwor, one individual died on the spot. According to police sources, 13 others who were injured and taken to various hospitals have also died.

The highest number of deaths—6—have occurred at the National Trauma Center. Everest Hospital in New Baneshwor has reported 3 deaths, while Civil Hospital has confirmed 3 more during treatment. Additionally, one person each has died at KMC Hospital in Sinamangal and at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.

Several members of the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police, along with protesters, have been injured. Their exact numbers have not yet been confirmed.

Due to the overwhelming number of casualties, Civil Hospital in Minbhawan has been referring injured individuals to other hospitals. The hospital has also referred deceased individuals to other facilities after confirming their deaths.

So far, the identities and places of origin of the deceased have not been confirmed. Police teams are currently documenting and verifying details in the respective hospitals.
