The match between UAE and Papua New Guinea (PNG) will be played today in the tri-nation ODI series of ICC World Cup Cricket League-2. The match between UAE and PNG will start at Kirtipur ground from 9 am. In yesterday’s match, PNG was defeated by Nepal by 52 runs. With the win, Nepal has 34 points in 33 games. Nepal is in fifth place.
UAE is sixth with 31 points from 32 matches and PNG is at the bottom with 9 points from 33 matches. This is the last series of ICC World Cup Cricket League-2. UAE and Papua New Guinea are in the series along with home team Nepal. Nepal will play UAE on Sunday, PNG on Monday and the last match will be against UAE on Thursday.
The third, fourth and fifth place teams will be decided from the final series. If Nepal wins the next three matches, it will reach 40 points. Which will be enough to directly qualify for the World Cup and maintain the ODI status. If they win one of the three matches, Nepal will retain the ODI status.
