EC Prints 3 million ballot papers as HoR poll nears

Kathmandu. With 31 days remaining until the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21, a total of 3 million ballot papers for the first-past-the-post (direct) electoral system have been printed so far.

According to the Election Commission, ballot printing for 25 districts has already been completed. The Commission stated that ballot printing is continuing regularly at Janak Education Materials Center in Bhaktapur.

For the proportional representation system, 20.83 million ballot papers have already been printed. In addition, 1,098,200 sample ballots have been printed for voter education purposes.

To enhance voter awareness, the Election Commission has approved and made public 158 types of voter education materials, which are being disseminated through the Commission’s official Facebook page, X, TikTok, and YouTube channels.

Meanwhile, to inform the international community about the election process, a briefing was organized for heads and representatives of diplomatic missions and United Nations agencies based in Kathmandu, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The briefing covered the election environment, preparations made by the Election Commission, and national and international observation arrangements.
