Damak: Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) Chairman K. P. Sharma Oli has stated that going to elections has become necessary to resolve the ongoing political crisis in the country. Speaking at the “Ba Sangha Vidyarthi” (Father with Students) program organized by the All Nepal National Free Students Union in Damak, Jhapa, on Friday, he clarified that the CPN-UML moved toward elections in order to provide the nation with an outlet from the prevailing crisis.
Chairman Oli emphasized that the UML will not shy away from elections and that the party is currently focused nationwide on electoral preparations. He expressed confidence that the party would emerge as the largest political force in the upcoming elections and work toward resolving the country’s existing challenges.
The former Prime Minister stated that any form of electoral malpractice would be unacceptable to his party. He alleged that the government does not appear serious about ensuring free and fair elections and stressed the need for a transparent and impartial electoral environment.
During the program, he urged young people not to be misled by misinformation spread through various channels and encouraged them to actively counter such narratives. Responding to questions raised by students regarding elections and national development, he said that the role and performance of any political party are determined by its principles, policies, and agenda. He also advised that the UML’s programs and ideological commitments should be effectively communicated to the public.
