Kathmandu: Nepal is currently experiencing the partial influence of a westerly low-pressure system, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
At present, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country are generally cloudy, while the remaining areas are experiencing partly cloudy conditions.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division reported that light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is currently occurring in some places of Gandaki Province and at one or two locations in Koshi Province and Bagmati Province.
According to the division, during the daytime today the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province, as well as the hilly and mountainous regions of other provinces, will remain generally cloudy, while the remaining areas will experience partly cloudy weather.
There is also a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, as well as snowfall, in a few places of the country’s mountainous regions. Similarly, some hilly areas of Koshi Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province, along with a few other hilly regions of the country, may experience moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning. One or two locations in the Terai areas of Lumbini Province and Sudurpashchim Province may also receive moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Likewise, tonight the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province, as well as other hilly and mountainous areas of the country, are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the remaining areas will see partly cloudy conditions.
There is also a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning and snowfall in some parts of the mountainous regions. In addition, some hilly areas of Koshi Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province, as well as a few hilly regions of other provinces, may experience moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning. One or two places in the Terai areas of Koshi Province, Lumbini Province and Sudurpashchim Province may also receive moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning.
